Where to begin after I left off my last blog on the 10 Year Plan. Oh yes,. since I last wrote, I have been reminded that we are now living in what would be called our 3rd -10 year Plan action, I have to think where I left off. Oh yes, we had just completed our beautiful house on Hengestone and were supposed to live happily ever after in that totally finished house with all the luxurious a wife and woman could ever imagine, plus the luxurios of riding mountain bikes with her cell phone. Our 2 daughters are grown up, daughter # 1 has graduated, and daughter # 2 taking her grade 12 and dental assistant course. My beautiful gorgeous wonderful wife has so much time on her hands and so many friends, but as the storey goes, we receive a little "hic-cup" in our life. Some would call it a surprize or a Whoopsie, but my wonderful wife and I took it in good stride. No it was not another baby as some might be thinking. You see Mr. needsattention has been working for this wonderful construction company with the President of the company being a very good family friend. So Mr. President approaches Mr. needsattention and asks if he would like to do a small project out of town, mr. needsattention has to think about this as well as thinks it might be good if mr.needsattention's wife has a say into this. Well to the dismay of mr. needsattention, the wonderful wife says ' Yes, Let's do it"! Whoa what a shocker that was. Anyway, mr. needsattention and the mrs. leave the beautiful comforts of our most gorgeous place in Abbotsford with all the luxurious of that home, we leave our mountain bikes, and cell phone and head to this very unknown place called Sun Peaks. Ok so this place is not totally in a foreign country, but is also known as Todd Mountain. This mountain being very close to the dirty, brown, God forsaken place called Kamloops. Wow what a contrast to the luscious, green, beautiful comforts of Abbotsford. Culture shock is beginning to set in for mr. needs attention.. But the mrs. always looking for adventure was ok with this. She wanted to be in this remote place away from the rat race of Abbotsford and all the activities mr. needsattention was involved in. So in 1997 began our new life away from the comforts, friends and good life we had in Abbotsford. So you are asking what does that have to do with the 10 Year Plan. Allow me to explain how important that was. The actual time we left Abbotsford was in May 1997, basically in mid year, also this year we had not set any goals so it is was very loosey, goosey, (exuse the french) in what our life will be about. Tha'ts ok because now we will be living in this place where anything goes. It is a ski haven or total resort living. Well you know mr.needsattention gets into this way of living pretty quickly. No more responsibilities, no after work projects, it is vacation time and ski time. Yahoo! Life is good when there are no committments anymore. Life is a Party for mr. needsattention and after 2 years of this party the missus is having enough, even though we are living in Timberline Village and looking at a beautiful mountain each day. Her husband is not around as he is having way too much fun skiing and quadding at this most gorgeous place. The story does not end here and so stay tuned for more on:

The 10 Year Plan
The 10 Year Plan originated in 1981. Being a casualty of the Great Recession we had to set time lines. My wonderful family endured the hardships of those days and now as we reflect in the Blessings we have received since then, we can share some insight to how a 10 year plan works.
So after experiencing great loss, my beautiful wife and I had to sit down and review where we are heading and how long will it take to get there. We thought this out very carefully and set a game plan that we would be back to our standard in 10 years. So on each January 1 (the start of a new year) we would sit and set goals for that year. This would help us in achieving our 10 year plan. At the end of the year we would review the year we just had and reflect how great God was and track our 10 year plan.
By 1991 we were right on schedule to achieving our goals we had set in place. it was 1991 when my wonderful wife was able to get a new 1990 Oldsmobile Royale. It was white in color and beautiful blue velour seats. Wow what a car! She looked so good in it. Imagine a beautiful blonde behind the wheel of this car. A proud mother with 2 beautiful daughters. On top of that she was able to get her first cell phone. Imagine that. A blonde, a white car, beautiful daughters, and talking on the cell phone. What status!! She was the first in our family to have a cell phone. Now it was time to purchase new bikes for the family. Out we went shopping to Clearbrook Sports, they were noted for the being the best bike supplier and we decided to buy from the best and because Sheldon and Cory worked there. So always thinking of others, my wife and I purchsed the bikes for the girls first, Very nice, then of course we purchase her bike and of course dad gets his bike last as he is always thinking of his family first. Our 10 year plan was working. The only thing missing was a new house. Well again we sat down on a Jan. 1 to set another 10 year plan. This one would have us build a new house. It happened!!! Our beautiful dream house on Hengestone Court. A 2 story house just the perfect home we dreamed of. Again we had the luxuries of a new fridge, a stove top with a glass cooking surface, a dishwasher, a water treatment plant that would do reverse osmosis, hardwood floors in the entry and dining room, a piano, a grandfather clock, a winding staircase to the 2nd floor and of course an office and sewing room for my wonderful wife. She deserved a room all to herself. We decided that my office could wait till we finished the basement. But the most important thing was that we had a finished house! This was all accomplished before our 10 year plan time frame ended.
So what was NOT in our 10 year plan? Well that was a surprise!

The Strip Search
"STRIP SEARCH"
So it is time to renew our passports. It has been 5 years since we received our first passport. A lot of events have happended in the world and this is reason why everyone needs a passport.Soon we will need them just to travel in Canada between Provinces. Let me clarify. We will need them to go to Quebec.
Well it begins with picking up an application form. This is should be the easy part of the equation, but oh no, there are a thousand questions including the last time you used the washroom. What has that got to do with anything? Now the big day arrives to when we bring the application to the passport receiving office. First we stand in line, finally we get to the agents counter. She checks everything. Again she asks when was the last time you went to the washroom? What has that got to do with anything? Ok so we have a lot of errors and ommissions on the application. No big deal we fix them up. Then she tells us that we have to go into the waiting room to wait for a different agent. Now I am getting anxious. It comes to me why the question is asked "when was the last time you used the washroom" I was reminded of the idiot who was going to blow up that United Airlines flight heading to Detroit on Christmas Day. He actually stuffed explosives up his "ginch" and we know the rest of the story. Ok so I am getting worried that they may be doing this "strip search" for our application review. Finally the agent calls our name and we are escorted into this small booth. I am really worried as I hadn't showered or changed ginch in over a week. Will they be doing this strip search? We are asked to sit down and the agent reviews our application. She again asks, "when was the last time you used the washroom?" So now we had to answer. My answer was. It has been nearly a week! Yikes she calls in the security and says, we have a terrorist here trying to renew his application!!! Guns drawn, I was put up against the wall and they were ready to yank the clothes off and do the strip search. I go hold it! What is all this about? I am told because it has been nearly a week since I last went to the washroom, I am ready to explode and they consider that terrorism! How stupid. Well I let them do the strip search and yes I did explode and what a mess!
In the end I was able to receive my passport and now I can travel and visit my son in law in Toronto. What will happen 5 years from now. What kind of searches will they be doing. Perhaps it is best that we just stay at home and not travel. This is getrting ridiculous
